How exactly does CBD interact with the endocannabinoid system?
Cannabidiol or (CBD) as it is most commonly known, has in recent years become the poster-boy for health products and wellness supplements. More than ever, there is a growing body of research and interest in the benefits that CBD can provide.

The endocannabinoid system, has been a topic of interest for researchers since the 1960s and 70s. Put simply, it is a complex biological system found within the human body. Scientists are yet to fully understand the potential of this system.
Although this may be the case, it has been identified that the endocannabinoid system or (ECS) impacts a number of important processes, such as sleep, memory, appetite, and mood. The (ECS) is built of three components, endocannabinoids, enzymes, and receptors.
What are endocannabinoids (ECBs)? And, what do they do?
Firstly, there are two main endocannabinoids (ECBs) that are produced by the (ECS). In a similar vein to serotonin and dopamine, which are messengers for the nervous system. Anandamide and ArachidonoylGlycerol (2-AG) are the two key messengers for the (ECS).
Anandamide, also known as the ‘bliss molecule’, plays an important role in the neural production of pleasure and motivation. Anandamide has a number of functions and has even been named as the source of ‘runners high’, which is experienced during, or after an intense workout.
2- ArachidonoylGlycerol or (2-AG), also known as the ‘sister molecule’ has been connected with emotional balancing, seizure prevention, and cardiovascular benefits. In recent years, it has also been found to be behind the reason for feelings of elation and contentment after intercourse. 2- ArachidonoylGlycerol produces the intense feeling of ecstasy after an orgasm.
Recent research has outlined that the (ECS) not only reacts to endocannabinoids found in the body, it is also been proven to respond to CBD. Therefore, adding CBD as a supplement can help to support the already working endocannabinoids. Which are produced by the body naturally!
